i've made many joyous memories on the internet

i don't think i would have become the person i am today were it not for the time i spent online in youth

my generation has a unique relationship to media consumption. we grew up as much of the technology today was emerging. with new technology comes new forms of media

we live and breathe media. in and off the net, it will always find us. so why not seek it out ourselves?

unrestricted internet access as a child gave me a dependency on devices and had me yearning for an era of internet i was too young to experience for myself

now i'm addicted to experiencing digital media even if it's meaningless or uninteresting to me

i enjoy the time i spend on my phone even if i gain nothing from the experience ; i need to know exactly where my phone is in order to feel safe ; many of my dearest friends are online

i think the internet is great (obviously) and i think it's done a lot of good for the world and for the creation and spreading of media

but i think it's done some irreversable damage to our minds too

anyways check out these cool gifs
